Terragon Shutdown

Looking for an alternative to Terragon Labs? DevBoxer is the best replacement for Terragon with faster sandboxes, burst capacity, and a familiar interface.

Open as Markdown

Terragon Labs is shutting down on February 9th, 2026. DevBoxer is here for Terragon users looking to continue running AI coding agents in the cloud.

We Loved Terragon Too

Terragon Labs was a pioneer in cloud-based AI coding agents. Like many of you, we were fans of what they built. The ability to spin up isolated sandboxes, describe a task in natural language, and come back to a pull request was transformative for how we worked.

When we heard about the shutdown, we knew the Terragon community would need somewhere to land. Terragon was kind enough to open source their code, so DevBoxer is built on the literally the same foundations. You are welcome to self-host the original Terragon, but it's quite difficult to get running and the baseline monthly services it requires are quite expensive. So if you loved Terragon and you're looking for an easy transition, we think you'll feel right at home here.

A Familiar Home for Terragon Users

If you're searching for a Terragon Labs alternative, you'll find DevBoxer immediately familiar. The workflow you know and love is here: describe your task, let the agent work in an isolated sandbox, and review the pull request when it's ready.

We've also added some improvements we think you'll appreciate:

Burst CPU and Memory

DevBoxer sandboxes can burst CPU and memory capacity when demand spikes. Running a build? Executing a large test suite? The sandbox scales up to meet the workload, then scales back down. No more waiting on resource-constrained environments during intensive operations.

Brand new Orchestrate mode (coming soon)

We're bringing all the latest Task and Teammates features from Claude Code to every agent, including Codex. Tackle long-running tasks with high reliability and full autonomy. This is the next generation of AI coding, and you'll be able to access it soon on DevBoxer!

What You Get with DevBoxer

Isolated sandboxes for every task, just like Terragon.

GitHub integration with automatic branch creation and pull requests.

Parallel task execution so you can run multiple agents without conflicts.

Slack integration to delegate work directly from your team's conversations.

CLI for local development to pull tasks when they need hands-on attention.
